If you are looking to build that custom bike, then one of the first things you want to do is determine the correct trail for your motorcycle. With the help of this simple program, you can determine the correct combination of frame neck rake and triple tree offset.
The program will prompt you to enter certain variables such as:
- Front tire diameter
- Neck rake angle
- Triple tree offset – this is the centerline distance from the center of the fork tubes to the center of the stem bolt. (See Page “Rake & Trail” for photos).
- Triple tree rake angle
- Triple tree width – this is the actual width of the triple trees – usually 1 or 1.5 inches
- Neck height – With the frame sitting on the floor, measure the distance from the ground to the center of the frame neck, if the ride height is 3.5″, then add this to the frame neck height.
We use 1 1/2″ series 60 Billet Aluminum with 2 Allan-Head bolts (each clamp X 4 clamps) for secure clamping.
Simply click the link below and the program will launch in an MS-DOS window. Click on the Printer Icon with a Red Arrow to Download or Read the your own “Take It Home” P.D.F. file/copy.
